The event was organized by Polaris Olomouc and led by a professional team headed by Aleš Hrabčík – people who know exactly what happens in the field, and how to prepare firefighters for it.
The program was split into several stations, where participants got hands-on practice with:
- winch recovery – how to properly secure and pull a vehicle out of trouble,
- driving on inclines – approaching slopes and working with the machine's center of gravity,
- fording – what both ATVs and UTVs can handle in water and how to behave in it,
- hill climbing and descending – technique for climbing and descending in terrain,
- reversing and fast driving – maneuvering in tight spaces and under pressure,
- vehicle maintenance – basic checks and care, so the machine works when it's needed most.
The goal wasn't just to "put firefighters on an ATV," but to show that handling terrain is a skill that needs to be trained just like working with a hose or breathing apparatus. ATVs and UTVs are becoming a standard part of the equipment for many units today – but it only makes sense when the crew can actually use them to their full potential.
FPS Group was there as a partner for the whole event. We brought our modules for firefighting, evacuation, transport, and municipal use, and presented them to firefighters directly in action – not in a photo, but in the terrain, where it actually matters. We talked with a large number of commanders and drivers about what units actually need, and these conversations are invaluable to us – this is exactly how our best solutions come to be.
Over 250 firefighters in one place, fully packed stations from morning till evening, and energy that was impossible to miss. Thank you to Polaris Olomouc, Aleš Hrabčík, and his team for organizing, and to all participating units for a great day.
We're glad to be part of events like this – because this is exactly where real cooperation between manufacturers and the people who use our equipment in the field every day is built.
